JVC הוציאה לאחרונה (מצלמות ראשונות כבר התחילו להימכר ע"י AMAZON בתחילת החודש) מצלמת 3CCD, שנכון לכתיבת שורות אלו, היא הראשונה בעולם, אשר מתבססת על כונן קשיח (יותר נכון Micro-Drive) במקום קלטות או מדיות לצריבה.
ה-Micro-Drive הוא למעשה כונן קשיח מכני (בדומה לכוננים הקשיחים של המחשב שלנו), רק שהוא בגודל של Compact-Flash מסוג II.
המצלמה מגיעה עם Micro-Drive בנפח של 4GB, שמספיקים לכ-60 דקות צילום.
