Sony Pictures has confirmed that its highly anticipated film adaptation of Kraven the Hunter will be the studio's first R-rated Marvel movie. The film features Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the titular role of the Spider-Man villain and Russian immigrant named Sergei Kravinoff. Kraven the Hunter is being billed as the next chapter of Sony's Spider-Man Universe, and will also star Fred Hechinger, Ariana DeBose, Russell Crowe, Levi Miller, Christopher Abbott, and Alessandro Nivola. The movie is directed by J.C. Chandor and is set for theatrical release on October 6, 2023.
